Terms & Condition

Farmersville Muslim Cemetery (FMC)

Terms and Conditions for Burial

Overview

Terms and conditions for all requests for the burial of the Muslim deceased are listed below. They are for the mutual protection of volunteers, staff, visitors, and our beloved dead, whose remains rest in our cemetery. They are also meant to serve the best interest of our cemetery, in the hope of being able to provide the service for as long as we have the burial lot and necessary resources available.

1. BURIAL REQUEST:

Individuals who request the service of burial in Farmersville Muslim cemetery (FMC) are entering into an agreement with the Farmersville Muslim cemetery (FMC) itself. The party requesting burial for a loved one must indicate agreement with the Terms & Conditions by selecting and accepting on the Burial request form. This agreement is required prior to the beginning of preparations for the gravesite.

Burial in an FMC is considered a Muslim service. The Muslim service is the burial of

the remains (full body) of a person in a Muslim cemetery and the future upkeep of the cemetery. FMC is a Waqf and Non-perpetual Cemetery and there is no transfer of ownership of property (lot). An FMC representative will authorize personnel to prepare for a burial plot. Cemetery grounds are consecrated and are for human remains only.

2. PLOTS:

Plots are defined as follows: A single plot for remains is 96 x 40 inches.

3. ASSIGNING OF PLOTS:

Plots will be assigned by FMC administrators within only the currently open section and in sequential order. The cemetery will maintain section opening and closing based on management guidance without any preference or favors.

4. PREPARING AND CLOSING THE GRAVE:

FMC has a contract with “3B Grave Service” for the opening and closing of graves. The FMC reserves the right to choose the gravediggers, and the operators are the only persons permitted to open and close graves.

5. GRAVE OPEN/CLOSE and VAULT FEE:

A Grave Open/Close fee of $450 and a Vault Fee of $450 are requested for services provided by 3B Grave Services.

6. CEMETERY FEE:

A Cemetery Upkeep Fee of $500.00 (per burial) is requested to support burial and upkeep services in our cemetery. This fee applies to all burials. The fee may be paid by cash, cheque, or credit card via the online payment option on our website. (Check Payable to the Farmersville Muslim Cemetery).

The FMC reserves the right to change the Cemetery Upkeep Fee, as deemed necessary.

7. GRAVE MARKERS - HEADSTONES:

Grave markers, headstones, and their cost and/or maintenance are the responsibility of the family under the following conditions:

The placement of a grave marker or monument is directed and supervised by the FMC operations team. The FMC authorized headstone installer is “Sahih Memorials”. The approved headstone option is “Two Tone Gray Granite” with two layout options, 24 x 12 x 4 inches height, width, depth, and the agreed cost is $450, payable to Sahih Memorials.

Unauthorized placement or maintenance of a grave marker or monument is prohibited.

8. LANDSCAPING OF PLOTS:

All plots are to follow the same ground level as the neighboring plots. The planting of trees, flowers, or the placing of ornaments or monuments of any type, the erection of fences or benches, placement of gravel or woodchips, digging of holes, or any other activity that would affect general maintenance is prohibited.

9. REGULAR MAINTENANCE – UPKEEP OF PLOTS:

The FMC does regular maintenance within the cemetery. The volunteers and paid staff that do this work are all required to abide by the Terms & Conditions outlined in this document. The FMC commits, through volunteers, staff, and family support, to maintain the plots and common areas according to reasonable criteria, availability of resources and weather conditions. Given the availability of resources and weather conditions, the grave site will be properly mowed and trimmed (around the monument). In the case of subsidence, the gravesite will be filled, levelled, and restored to a flat, well-groomed, lawn-like surface. Note that rain may challenge the ability to maintain the graves at the highest of standards at all times. A family member will be contacted should any damage occur to the grave marker or monument. Plots that are found in conditions that do not adhere to the Terms & Conditions outlined and have obstructions to equipment may not receive the care available until the situation is rectified.

FMC representatives reserve the right to remove any article or articles judged to be inappropriate, obstructive, or dangerous. These articles may be disposed of with no recourse.

10. GENERAL CEMETERY CARE & LANDSCAPING:

The overall look and landscaping of the cemetery are the responsibility of the FMC.

11. CEMETERY WORKERS:

Cemetery workers are working under regulations drawn up by the FMC management. Please do not interfere with workers as they are only doing their job. Any complaints or dissatisfaction should be put in writing and addressed to the FMC.
